Connection to the Internet with NAT 1.0 E-Lesson
This E-lesson provides you with solutions to the challenges of deploying high-availability public servers within your small-site network. Although the hosting services seem a good alternative there are cases when you cannot avoid placing the servers in your network - a good example is a local mail server. The guidelines for multi-homing will enable you to successfully deploy the servers and ensure their high availability. An associated lab exercise helps you to gain practical skills in configuring an Internet access solution for a small company. The exercise covers two most possible scenarios with respect to available public IP addresses - you get a block of public addresses or you get a single address only. You will practice the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Network Address Translation (NAT) in the lab.
